Sydney Nash: Managing Editor Poetry

Orphaned before she was born, Sydney Nash's favorite book as a child was "Are You My Mother?" Even at the tender age of five, she could argue with any adult that the author of this book wasn't Dr. Seuss, and so her editorial skills were finely honed; which is why she was the production editor for The Hiss Quarterly. Ms. Nash has managed to publish short stories, articles, commentary and poetry all over the place. Someday she will finish writing many of the books she's started; and will submit most - - if not all - - of the poetry she has scribbled on the backs of envelopes and deposit slips (who uses those anyway?). Sydney seldom sleeps (she's fond of napping) frets 24/7 about her two grown sons and her teenaged daughter; works for a large corporate entity when she's not editing and she tries to quit smoking every day. She's in love with the same guy she's been in love with since she was eight and will probably live in the Pacific Northwest someday.

Raised on Long Island in New York, he currently resides on the north shore with his wife and two children. Dreams of being a novelist interrupt his work day as an Information Technology professional at a local, private college.

This goal will be easier to achieve once she finishes writing a screenplay. When not writing screenplays or about herself in the third person, she does terrible things to haiku poems. She also likes to give writing tips, which may not change your life, but may help you make a few creative decisions.
Kathleen Maher: Writer

Kathleen Maher is a fiction writer in New York City. Her blog, Diary of a Heretic, presents her work in progress. The blog format "demands a tight structure", which she considers a help, and the schedule prevents her from rewriting everything to death. In 2007 and 08, she was a finalist in the Weblog Awards for Best Literature Blog, which was won in 07 by Neil Gaiman.
Naomi Gill: Cartoonist.

Naomi is a writer and artist "attempting to get far too many creative projects off the ground." Since 2006, she's managed to maintain a webcomic, Mary Quite Contrary. Grace Read : Book Reviewer

Grace Read lives in North Hertfordshire with her husband and her cat. She developed a love of books during her English A Level and English undergraduate degree, where she was forced to 'chain-read' a number of texts each week. This proved an enjoyable challenge as Grace is a slow reader and easily lost in plot twists! In her spare time Grace loves giggling, stretching, reading, shopping, chatting, working, dancing and volunteering.
Charlie Wykes: Book Reviewer

Charlie is a reader. This is not something he can, nor wishes, to control. Indeed until he met his wife, Mandy, reading kept him sane. He does it both in private, and quite shamelessly in public, but always with a coffee. No room in his house is spared his desire; not attic, cellar nor loo. He has read at 36,000 feet whilst those around him slept and he has read on platforms as nearby travellers craned their necks in anticipation of oncoming trains. He has driven hundreds of miles in the company of audio books and once, many years ago when young and green, he read a magazine whilst inching forward in a traffic jam. That ended badly.

Julian Povey : Photographer

"I believe that photography can be art - although I'm happy if I can produce an image that others find pleasing to the eye or perhaps even thought provoking."
Julian was given an old Voigtlander camera when he was around 8 years old. This, coupled with a few hours tuition from his Grandfather at his home built darkroom, led to a lifelong interest in Photography. Julian loves being able to share his work, and gives much of it freely, mainly through sites like Flickr. He aims to keep working on improving his skills in photography - in all aspects, from technical through to artistic/composition, and most of all to keep enjoying it!

Vicky Roberts : Book Reviewer

After her English literature teacher at high school told Vicky Roberts to “Never stop writing”, she has regretfully done precisely that; stopped writing! The reality of life as a busy mum of four young, adorable children has put a temporary hold on her dream to one day write her own novel. She hopes to rectify this in the future but for the time being is content with and enjoying reading and reviewing the work of others. She has always taken great pleasure in reading and throughout her life has found comfort, escapism, joy and immense satisfaction from reading a good book. Studying English literature and language at Loughborough University not only gave her a greater technical knowledge and critical awareness of literature but also the skills she now uses in reviewing and occasionally proof reading other's work. Other pursuits and hobbies include volunteering for MacMillan Cancer Support, coaching gymnastics and more recently, tap dancing!
